I’m sorry, WHAT?! I just finished In The Wake of the Wicked by V.B Lacey and I devoured it, had a chokehold on me like no other. It’s a dual POV that follows our FMC Rose who is forced to go compete in a tournament after a curse sweeps through the land and our MMC Leo who is a rebel determined to take down the all-powerful emperor. There’s plot twists left and right. There’s witty banter and angsty romance between our FMC and MMC. If you’re looking for a book that has the magical elements of Shadow and Bone and the deadly trials of the Hunger Games then go pick up this up!
