I enjoyed this one more than Northern Lights. It's a nice change of pace from the first book, as there's more POVs than just Lyras. I really liked the introduction of the chatacter of Will and his friendship with Lyra. It's also surprisingly dark at times for a children's book, and  had some sad moments that tugged on my heartstrings.

My main issue with the book is that the religious symbolism is a bit heavy-handed at times. And also I miss Iorke Brynison!
