The Very Secret Society of Irregular Witches by Sangu Mandanna

Did not finish book. Stopped at 15%.

I didn't really care for any of the characters, and  this is a character driven story. The kids "cuteness" felt forced. The MC was kind of dull. I knew there was a romance in this book, but with disliking or being apathetic towards most of the characters made me realize I wasn't going to be invested in the romance when it showed up. The magic was, meh. 
It also felt like there were too many side characters and they were all competing for page time.
