Listen for the Lie by Amy Tintera

5.0

Ok, I loved this book so much! I ended up listening to it on audio and couldn't stop listening. First off, the narrator was fantastic and made the book even more engrossing than it already was.

The story itself was so well written. I loved Lucy, our FMC. I thought she was written so well, and I could really relate to her and her sarcasm. Though, her "inner thoughts" were an interesting twist and also added a lot to the story. Ben (the podcast guy) was great, too. I liked how even though he didn't always think some things through *wink wink*, he was very fair in how he went about getting information and presenting it. Lucy's family and friends (and town) on the other hand, I wasn't a fan of, but at least the town had their reasons. Her family and friends I kind of wanted to strangle because of the way they treated her.

Except Grandma! grandma was the BEST character! I absolutely loved her. She was quirky, outspoken, and never gave up on her favorite grandchild. All the rest were assholes.🤣

I really enjoyed how the story panned out and was presented to us mostly through podcast style, but also through personal conversations and flashbacks. It was pretty fast-paced, but left room  for the story to breathe and open up.

In all honesty, this should have been a twist I saw coming, and looking back, it seems more obvious. But I didn't guess before it was revealed, and the story that played out was very sad in all aspects.

Giving this one a 4.5 Highly recommend
