Rogue Protocol by Martha Wells

5.0

Favorite, so far, of the series! We have basically everything a gal could want right here: adventure, travel, sneakin around, a new AI friend, EMOTIONS, cool architecture; you name it, I love it. All this book needed was like 10% more alien archaeology talk and it would be.. well, 6 stars out of 5.

The real standout of this book is the introduction of a new AI character, Miki, and her friend/owner, Don Abene. Miki's friends have treated her with kindness and love the whole series and it has Murderbot absolutely PERPLEXED.

"Or Miki was a bot who had never been abused or lied to or treated with anything but indulgent kindness. It really thought its humans were its friends, because that's how they treated it.
I signaled Miki I would be withdrawing for one minute. I needed to have an emotion in private."

Seriously, how could this novella get any better?
