mamamelreads 's review for:
Sylvester
by Georgette Heyer
This book has the best flubbing of a marriage proposal outside of a Jane Austen novel. The best. This is the second Georgette Heyer novel I have read, and I love the Austen feel to her writing. I love the wit and the social commentary that is weaved throughout the story. The bonus for this audio version is that it is read by the great Richard Armitage. Delightful! I always feel like I need to go back and re-read the Heyer stories that I have read so far. I just know that I am missing some of the subtle details that really make these stories pop. I think that Sylvester would be a fun story to see on screen somewhere. I enjoyed this audio book, and I feel like it is a story that I could come back to again and find that I love even more the second time around, so I'm keeping this on my book radar so I don't forget it. This may be the lamest book review I have ever written. I don't feel like I have much of value to say about this novel except that I give it four stars. I really liked it. If you are looking for fun, sweet, and clean historical romances, this is what you need to read.
