This book was SO good! It gave me Carry On vibes with its fun fantasy story with a lovable cast of characters and witty dialogue! I laughed out loud multiple times while reading this, though I will say listening to the audiobook meant that I missed some details that I feel like I would have retained better with the physical book. I'm only dropping down its rating because I felt that the author couldn't decide if they wanted to have a romance plot or not. There are hints of a romance, and the side characters all know it, but it's just not present enough to feel intentional. It's like the main characters fell in love without the author's permission haha! Highly recommend having the sequel on hand for when you finish this book because the ending is a bit of a cliffhanger ;)
Graphic: Violence, Blood, Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Death, Misogyny, Murder
Minor: Rape, Sexual assault, Abandonment
