Second book in the Sugar Maple series. The story arc continues in this book. Chloe and Luke’s relationship is tested when his ex-wife shows up in Sugar Maple needing his help. The town freaks out because another human has arrived. Many townspeople are siding with Isadora and Isadora is wreaking havoc from within her banishment. Fun times.
The universe created here continues to be interesting though Chloe is a bit too whiny in this book for my tastes. There’s lots of action in this book and a few hold-your-breath scenes. The book ends on a huge cliffhanger that evidently segues into book three.
