About a Rogue by Caroline Linden

Beautifully written. Lovely characters. A strong plot and a sweet romance. Honestly, I enjoyed this more than I expected. It was more on the sweeter side than I was looking for but I was so invested into both the hero Max and the heroine Bianca that it hardly mattered.

Bianca was a strong willed, stubborn and intelligent heroine. Equally loyal and independent. I loved that she didn't let her pride get in her own way when it could have. I did find her antagonistic treatment of the hero for much of the beginning of the book began to grow tiresome but thankfully no sooner I began to think that did things begin to transition.

The hero Max was such a fantastic hero. I loved that the author wrote him in such a way that even I was surprised by his true character. It was so easy to make assumptions on the so little we knew or seen early on much like the heroine did. He was great hero material. What I loved most about him was how he fell in love with Bianca. He was so gone for her and I adored how he saw her through his eyes. Max was also incredibly patient with Bianca. Calm and intelligent. He let people underestimate him which was always to his advantage.

The chemistry between Bianca and Max was equally satisfying. They had sparks flying off the page. If anything, I wish we had had more intimate scenes between the two if only because it took awhile to open the door to that part of their relationship.

Overall I loved it. Bianca's Aunt Frances was a hoot! I adored Bianca and Max as a couple. The ending was solid. I do wish there had been a more fulfilling epilogue to provide more closure for them. I also realize we never got Bianca confronting her sister Cathy after she made all those accusations about saving Bianca from her marriage to Max. So a few extra scenes would've tidied those holes right up. Otherwise it was a fun entertaining read.
