This book left me broken-hearted..I read it in French and I loved it from the first page. What a realistic story and one that provokes a lot of thinking, because really, how much could money change us if suddenly we became millionaires? Would it be to the better or worse? What may be the things we would purchase? And can one return to a normal life after many ill-based choices, expecting no consequences?
I expected a melodramatic and romantic ending, but this one completely shocked me. Do I recommend it? Yes, definitely. In fact, I believe it is one of the most beautiful novels I read this year.
