Snow Angels by James Thompson

Did not finish book.
Accidentally marked as read, should be a DNF book. The writing was very utilitarian, very "tell" with little "show". The sentences are very clipped and communicated basic information, which I found quite annoying. It isn't awful, but definitely not my preferred style at all-- this may work for other readers. I got about 40 pages in and contemplated reading further to see if it would grab me, but it really didn't. The main character is very hollow and loves saying the racial/gendered slur carved into the victim's torso. Like goddamn dude, chill, you don't have to say it all the time. This read like a worse version of Law & Order SVU. I think this genre really isn't for me unless the writing is fabulous.
