Why are men like this?

I had immense fun reading Wildflowers, I basically inhaled over half a day. I call myself a big fan of post-apocalyptic romance and Kylie Scott added wit and lightness to this genre. It was good to see a lighter take but no downplaying of the peril of these times.

The way this story started with a very unexpected event had me side eyeing the MMC, Dean hard. I mean, I got it, this man had clearly been longing for Astrid from afar and had not made his move. But wow, not that…

Anyway, the fast pace of this pandemic meant they had to move on fast from that event and think about survival, where to go, what to do, whether to let other people into their lives and whether to let each other in.

I loved the fast moving plot, the people who came into their lives and especially an unexpected arrival of some. I could have done with more animals but that’s just me. As you can imagine, the unsavoury were soooo unsavoury. I can completely see some men being like this at the end of the world.

I finished this story thinking, please write more in this world. Please!
