The Burnout by Sophie Kinsella
4.0

After her last book (Party Crashers) was a huge disappointment, this felt like a return to form for Sophie Kinsella. Like the Shopaholic books, we have a flawed and deeply human heroine who goes too severe in trying to "fix" herself but actually turns out to be great at her job and saves the day for everyone, including herself. She meets a guy who seems uptight and terrible but turns out to be lovely, and there are a lot of wacky side characters. The setting and backstory are particularly enjoyable and made me want to learn to surf. My only complaints were the unnecessary third act complication and the big climax of the story (which was heartwarming and fun) was sort of pointless and unrealistic.
