Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert

1.0

I’m probably one of the very few straight males to have read this entire book and I’ll probably regret it for a while. Who would want to pay and read about a female divorcee from America, who has about 350 pages of jibber jabber. One of my female friends challenged me to read this as she felt this book has changed her life. (I pity her and I’m never considering her book recommendations). The author failed miserably to demonstrate the beauty of delicacies in Italy. The second I, India, I seriously did not understand why she travelled to India and her mate, the poet/plumber from New zealand is annoying and his poems are utter nonsense. The last I, Indonesia is a fusion of all kinds of non sense. (Yes, we Indians use non sense quite often). I never understood her problems that led to divorce and her love with David was also non sense. Overall, this is whole bunch of whining about her husband, ex-husband, lover, ex-lover, lover, to be lover and all other characters. I wouldn’t recommend or gift this book to anyone, not even a divorcee.
