Maskerade by Terry Pratchett

4.0

Witches novels are always a treat, and this one is rather special, being based primarily in Ankh-Morpork. Granny Weatherwax Nanny Ogg are, along with Commander Vimes, Pratchett's greatest creations, these witches shine a light on how we relate one another, and how people make assumptions based on appearance, and first impressions. The opera/musical jokes are good fun, the murder mystery is excellent, as is the character development of Anges/Perdita as the third witch. A really enjoyable read.
