The House of Night Books are getting a little old for me. The first few were really good, especially since I discovered them late and read them all one after another. Now at book 9 (!) they are starting to seem a little drawn out. It doesn't really feel like anything huge actually happened in this book that couldn't have been told in a few chapters. I think this series might be better with a few longer books instead of many shorter books. I find that I forget what has happened by the time the new books come out and the suspense and interest just isn't there anymore. I also am finding that the character's friendship and connections are disappearing in the most recent books. Still, I would say this book was an ok addition to the series but it wouldn't stand out.
