The Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafón

5.0

WOW. JUST.. WOW.

This book flies straight into my All Time Favourites, for sure. It was fantastic!! From the very first page, I knew it was going to be an amazing read. The author uses so many superfluous words, and I mean that in the best way possible. It's so beautifully written that you'd feel like you were reading magic. My language is unfortunately too limited to truly describe what a wonderful piece of literature this book is.

I realised a third of the way in that I'd fallen deeply in love with it. It's romantic, mysterious, enchanting, incredibly funny and playful. Daniel is a lovable, relatable protagonist. Julian is a puzzle waiting to be solved. And Fermin is the gift that keeps on giving.

My heart is full, thanks to Carlos Ruiz Zafón the artist.
