The Little Book of Hygge: The Danish Way to Live Well by Meik Wiking

3.0

If you've never lived in Europe, then the concept of hygge is unrelatable and foreign. I grew up in a third-world country and such hedonistic pursuits are impossible when the two most basic needs according to Maslow (physiological and safety needs) cannot be met.

I moved to the Netherlands roughly eight years ago and hygge is very similar to the Dutch gezelligheid. I count myself very lucky to have this opportunity to experience little conveniences simply because my basic needs are cared for. Anyway, I learned a lot from reading this. I also felt a massive sense of privilege that I get to experience hygge every day.
