The Friends We Keep by Jane Green

4.0

Jane Green does it again with this story of friendship, choices and secrets. This book follows Evvie, Maggie and Topher from their meeting at University in 1986-1989, the In Between Years 1992-2016 and Present Day 2019.

The 3 are thick as thieves when they meet, sharing rooms, dreams and secrets. After graduation, an indiscretion happens which leads to a major secret being kept. As in real life, the truth will eventually come out at some point and friendship will be tested.

The characters are realistic, and likeable. Situations are relatable. Initially, I was disappointed with the ending, but as I think about it, it ended the way it should. There was a lot going on, but that again is real life!

Thanks to Library Thing for the ARC. Opinion is my own.
