A beautiful read of prose poetry, I was originally introduced to this book via university, and the structure of the book is something it is apparently recognised for, for some kind of mathematical sense can be applied to it. Well, I know nothing about maths, but I do love the structure and concept of the books, and it is full of wisdom, nothingness and somethingness. It can get a tad repetitive at times, but I enjoy the interspersed sections with Marco Polo and Kublai Khan to break things up. If you're looking for artistic inspiration I think this book is great because visually it describes some wonderful/horrifying scenes, and never has a book made me want to pick up a pen and sketch more than this one. A must read for the enjoyers of beautiful writing that aren't too bothered about plot or character.
