Braiding Sweetgrass: Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings of Plants by Robin Wall Kimmerer

5.0

I cannot say anything about this book that hasn't already been said. It's worth being the book you keep in the background, revisiting every now and then for a new story and window into seeing our relationship with the earth as a gift. We welcome gifts, and we love and cherish them, but we do not ask for more than we need, and we find ways to give gifts in return. This is explored again and again through tales of Native American gratitude, cilantro at the farmers market, salamanders in the cold woods. Make sure you write all over your copy, use it to its full potential, because it is truly a gift.
