Alright so it was not my intention to finish this book this year, I was going to roll it over into next year. However plans changed, the end of 2021 threw me a curveball. So with the time I was given to clear my head I did the only thing that brings me joy and that was to read.
Written In My Own Heart's Blood (I am only typing this title out once) is without a doubt my third favorite novel within the Outlander series, surpassed only by Outlander and Breath of Snow and Ashes. Diana Gabaldon is at her best in this novel when it comes to her amazing writing and captivating storytelling. The journey that each and every character goes on, is given time to breathe and develop. There was a huge fallout at the end of An Echo in the Bone and Gabaldon chooses to let it fester in this book but not so much that is becomes cumbersome. The fallout is the main driving force for most characters development and it shines through. As for Brianna and Roger, in the last book I didn't so much connect with their story. Gabaldon did a full one-eighty for them and gave them a truly interesting storyline. It brought so much and nothing I can really talk about because hello spoilers. But I was blown away, truly.
WIMOHB is the last book on my reread journey, so I am super excited to say that in 2022, tomorrow I will be diving into none other then Go Tell The Bees That I Am Gone, the penultimate novel in the Outlander series. I am so nervous!
