The Scot Who Loved Me by Gina Conkle

A thrilling heist pairs sweetly with a second chance romance.

Generally, the tone of the book was like a slow flowing river on a warm, lazy afternoon. Yet, the events unfolded fairly quickly one after the other, moving the story along. Although, there were some slow parts there in the middle.

The actual theft was quite nerve-wracking. As for Anne and Will, they were in love, lost each other for a while, and then slowly slid right back into their love for each other. It wasn’t anything dramatic or spectacular, but it was poignant and sweet.

I found the writing style was maybe not the easiest to read, but all-in-all I quite enjoyed the book. It held my attention and I really wanted to see it through to the end. Anne turned out to be deceptively cunning. I can recommend this if you like historical romance that perhaps doesn’t follow the expected pattern.

Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
