This is an incredible book.
A handful of (non human) travelers find themselves stuck in a pleasant backwater guesthouse with no communication. Their life happens… it is the most human thing possible and it feels more real and genuine than 95% of more regular fiction.
There is not much of a plot… after 5 days or so communication is back up and everyone continues on their way… being better for the connections with the strangers they were forced to interact with.
Of all the books in the wayfarer series this may be the most wholesome (and that is saying a lot).
I am going to eat some cheese now…
