Six Years by Harlan Coben
5.0

“I'd rather read than relax. I'd rather keep the mind engaged.”
― Harlan Coben, Six Years

My second Harlan Coben book was called Six Years! Six Years is about a man named Jake, who is a professor at a college. Six Years ago Jake fell in love with a woman named Natalie and they had a brief summer fling. At the end of their fling, Natalie disappeared. Natalie made Jake promise to forget about her and not to ever look for her. Jake tried but after six years he found a sign of Natalie and couldn't help himself. He decided to do some research even though it meant breaking his promise to do so.

After struggling with a rating, I finally decided on 5 stars for this one! It is somewhere in between 4 and 5 for me, I couldn't decide which. The final deciding factor for me was the fact that I read it so quickly and couldn't put it down. I needed to know what was going to happen in this one, and I couldn't stop reading. Coben has a fantastic writing style that sucks you in from the very beginning and keeps you interested. I loved the character development, not only of the main character, but the supporting characters as well. Coben throws in little bits of their lives that make you want to know more. The twists and turns that are thrown at the reader in this novel are amazing. Just when you think you have it all figured out, you get another surprise thrown at you! I have several more Coben novels on my TBR and can't wait for the next one!
