The Most Wonderful Crime of the Year by Ally Carter
3.5
I am laughing writing my review because this book is so many things it is hard to describe. It’s kind of like an everything but the sink cookie. It is a mash up of so many things that all work together to make something so delicious you can’t get enough of it. You have:
- Romance between 2 work rivals whose banter is so flirty!
- Mystery- the rivals have to to solve a mystery because someone has gone missing
- Thriller-while solving the mystery a killer is running around trying to murder our main characters
- A mansion in the winter which adds a dash of Christmas/winter vibes
I had a lot of fun reading this book because even with the mystery and killer this couple was a favorite of mine. The FMC is so mean and snarky to the MMC and he just goes with it. He is flirty and teases her so much but then gives these epic declarations of love. It shouldn’t work because this romance is happening in a clue murder mystery scenario but it totally works.
