This was a really intensely uncomfortable read, spurred on by reading about Weil’s intensely uncomfortable life. And that discomfort goes into overdrive on the topic of Weil’s relationship to Judaism (though it ends up being more complicated than a surface reading would suggest.) That aside, it makes for a fairly compelling read and the consistency in her writings and real life is a rare quality to find in a person.
