A surprisingly good book! I got this just because I enjoy Star Wars, and I was vaguely interested in the new High Republic setting. But I was actually impressed with it! The setting is fun, the characters are fairly well done (even with most of them being Jedi), and it’s closer to adult than I expected. I wouldn’t call it adult, but probably teenage level. There were (implied) references to sex, drugs, and violence that I can’t say I saw coming from a Disney book. Plus, I appreciated the offhand references to gay characters (even if none of them were main characters).
