This was the first chapter/non-picture book I read to my boys. The 2-year old wasn't so into it (though he did listen and perk up during the more exciting bits), but the 4-year old loved it. Predictably, his favorite character is Toad. I think this was my first time to read this book, too, though I've seen at least 1 of the movie versions.
