I expected this book to be a light fluffy thing where boys fall in love in space— I was pleasantly surprised to find that the book had a lot more thoughtful science fiction to it.
To say which stories this is similar to would be to spoil the story, but it clearly draws inspiration from some of the greats. I almost wish I was a young reader who would be encountering these tropes for the first time. It is well written, with only a little silliness.
The main characters are 17 years of age, (and if we were true to popular publication trends that would place the target readership at {-3 years} 14 years old (??!?).. which is probably a bit young for the sex? but it is only alluded to and not graphic.
I enjoyed this one.
