Dead Girl Walking by Linda Joy Singleton
2.0
Got some random young adult books from the library while waiting for my holds to come in. This one was intriguing because it is your typical teen girl book (girl is unsatisfied with her life because she wants to be cool and popular but then finally learns that her life is actually pretty awesome after all) with a bit of a twist. It's kind of morbid - Amber, the protagonist of this story, dies within the first few chapters of the book and when she is supposed to be returned to her own body by her loving, dead grandmother, she accidentally returns to the body of the most popular girl of the whole school, who has just attempted to commit suicide.
While I enjoyed watching Amber struggle with/learn from her predicament, this book really stressed me out and I absolutely DETESTED the ending with its lack of resolution/stress relief (cliffhanger for Dead Girl #2).
