I knew that this was going to be emotionally powerful, but I couldn’t have expected what the book actually was like. I’m glad I read the graphic novel version because it was the only one my library had. I typically don’t like novels in verse. I think if I had read it in the original format, that would’ve taken away from my experience but it works so well with the visuals. This is such a chilling depiction of the cycle of violence. In short, it was excellent.
