This one was good fun. The theme of clone based immortality has been explored in sci-fi before, such as Altered Carbon by Richard Morgan and/or Scalzi's Old Man's War series.

Ashton tackles this trope from a different angle, where rather than the clonal immortality being a feature of the world, it's more of an individual quirk in this story. Solid world building throughout and well written characters. Excellent work with the pacing as sometimes the expositionary flashbacks ruin the tense or flow. I felt the setting could have benefited from more descriptiveness as the setting itself feels sparse but the good character interplay helps.

Would highly recommend
