Krimson Run by Julia Huni, Craig Martelle

This was - I spent a Hoopla credit on it, so I pushed my way through. It was okay, not very-well-thought-out science fiction at its most... eh. A middle-aged mother of two is left for dead while her spineless husband escapes, ends up on death row, and rescued by an accountant friend who's actually an enemy spy. The world-building was very poorly-done - high heels and people watching Mr. Bean, naval dynamics that feel straight out of the 1990s, etc. - and there was a lot of humor that didn't land for me, plus way too many teenage protagonists. Nonetheless there was nothing actively wrong with it, it just wasn't particularly good or interesting to me personally.
