“I’ll give you all the time in the world until you get this exactly the way you want.”

“If you haven’t figured it out by now, I’m staying until you make me leave.”

“Any other temptations I should know about?” Maisy asked.
I locked my gaze with hers. “You.”

Maisy Holt was pure joy. She was goodness personified. She was a beam of sunshine breaking through the clouds in my life.

“You know what’s special, Coby?”
“What?” he asked, hopping down the steps.
“Your mom’s smile.”

And his presence brought peace to my heart, just like his mother’s.

Coby’s smile was infectious. As much as I loved Maisy, I was in just as deep with this boy.

“There’s something truly magical about a man falling in love with your child, isn’t there?” Gigi whispered in my ear.
“Totally.”
