Did not finish book. Stopped at 3%.

Holy cow, I could not read this. It felt like it had been written by an undergrad attempting dark academia in a contemporary romance novel. For example,

“Of course, I had a key, but even with the morning rain and the harsh wind threatening any chance I had of maintaining a presentable appearance, I didn’t have the gall to walk in like I owned the place.”

I just couldn’t deal with this writing for another 200 plus pages, so it was a quick DNF for me. Disappointing because I was excited for this story.
