Four Dead Queens
by Astrid Scholte
This was a solid book. I didn't know that it was going to be a standalone until everything started wrapping up and I realized there was no way for there to be another book lol! And I like that it was a standalone. I think it makes sense given the plot, and I'm happy that we got to see it resolve.
I'm not going to lie, I did not see that ending coming! I was totally unprepared for who the assassin was and I think it was such a creative and well written plot and ending.
I loved the writing style of how it was switching POVs so we could see the Queen's thoughts, as well as their final moments.
I liked all of the characters a lot. You could tell that they were all really fleshed out with complex backgrounds. I liked the romance that happened as well.
Overall I thought it was a really enjoyable book, but nothing too memorable.
