I am glad that I continued with this series, but the second one wasn’t better than the first for me. It had many of the same charming bookish vibes, but it somehow lost the enchanting quality.
I liked the further exploration of book wandering and learning more about the Underlibrary. I also loved the fact that this story was primarily set in Paris. The setting was the thing that added that hint of enchantment to the story. Anna James is also really great at describing things in an atmospheric way.
One of my favorite things about the book was that it explored fairytales. That brought me a lot of nostalgia and influenced my opinion of the book in a positive way.
