The Night Before by Wendy Walker
4.0

The Night Before by Wendy Walker was the story of Laura, a girl diving back into the dating world, and she goes missing.
This isn’t your typical missing girl story though and that’s why I liked it! Laura herself can be dangerous if her past has any say in the matter.
You’ll be guessing throughout the entire book about who’s the guilty party and who’s an innocent bystander.
I liked Laura right away and the way her mind was scattered and how she questioned everything. It kept you on edge as a reader trying to figure her out and how her mind worked.
Rosie, Laura’s sister, was a little harder for me to enjoy. She was needy to me and I didn’t jive well with her character.
The chapters are split between Laura’s perspective and Rosie’s perspective along with a page thrown in with a conversation between Laura and her shrink. Those pages were so vague, leaving you with a lot more questions than answers and I loved that.
Overall, the story was gripping, it had me thinking, and I truly didn’t see the end coming. There were a few things I wish could have been wrapped up a little clearer, but nothing that took away from the overall greatness of this book.
