Bane
by L.J. Shen
So many twists and turns! 😮 But oh my God, this book gave me chills. Snowflake and Bane had such an intense story. And poor Snowflake... I really felt bad for her. But I don’t want to write about sad things.
The storage room part was my favourite by far. It was one of the most specific scenes and the hottest one. The chemistry between the main characters was so powerful! And I couldn’t believe how perfect Bane was. I love a man who pretends to be bad, but actually has a golden heart. And Bane was just like this.
And I found a lot of meaningful quotes:
“The look on her face was anger flirting with horror.”
“That’s what Jesse smelled like. Like a punch in the fucking face. And, honestly, women should find a way to bottle it as perfume. Very powerful stuff.”
“I liked to think of my memories as a graveyard for my thoughts.”
“Love is like ivy. It wraps around you, chokes every part of you quietly. It is not patient, or kind, or gentle. It is needy, cunning, and suffocating.”
“He was still rubbing against me persistently, in a rhythm I wanted to tattoo into my brain and write into a melody.”
“Love is art. Some people shut their eyes and refuse to see it. Others visit every museum in the world. Which type do you fall under?”
“He was cracking my heart with every touch, shattering it with every smile, and it didn’t make any sense, because how could he break something that was already broken? Still. I felt his presence in my bones.”
“I made a gagging sound. “Ugh. Feelings.”
“How would you know what they’re like?” she teased.
Because I’ve been ambushed by the fuckers and can’t seem to shake them off.””
“But everything felt different that night. Like the devil got the pen to write my script till morning.”
“They say it’s better to be slapped with the truth than kissed with a lie.”
“He pulled me into a kiss that made oxygen seem overrated.”
