emgelotti 's review for:
The Age of Innocence
by Edith Wharton
Edith Wharton's incisive wit made this novel a treat to read. Especially considering Wharton's own anti-Semitism, it was interesting to examine New York Society's simultaneous fascination with and fear of the foreign, of individuals who are not the "same kind of white" as they are.
