Nadiya's Family Favorites by Nadiya Hussain is a free Penguin Random House UK (Michael Joseph) hardcover copy of a book that I read in early January.

Nadiya offers chapters on breakfast, lunch, snacks, dinner, desserts, and cakes while using a gentle, guiding narrative voice unheard of in a cookbook - ideal for those scared off by technically-written cookery manuals and culinary textbooks. There's a picture for nearly every recipe, gives many of her own personal preferences, and the only thing really discerning it as a cookbook over a conversation is the measurements. It's also very homemade and doesn’t shy away from unusual flavor combinations (sweet pasta, omelette & veggie fries, hazelnut mashed potatoes, chicken with grapefruit), yet grins with genius at others (mocha cinnamon rolls, samosa pie, chicken non-prawn toast, brussel sprout slaw, eclair roll, peanut honeycomb banana cake).
