“A rural country road. No cell signal for miles. A terrifying game of cat-and-mouse. By the time Laura and Olivia notice the headlights tailing them through the hills, it’s too late. What seems, at first, like a case of road rage quickly unfolds into a heart-pounding chase—and a battle for survival.”

I’ve been craving a good thriller recently. I read a lot of psychological mysteries and I found my brain needing more cut-and-dry, fast-paced action.

This definitely delivered. It’s intense, jarring, and grips you tight until the last page.

What I liked:
  • fast action sequences, interesting atmosphere, and a couple twists I didn’t expect.
  • a very close and unique bond between the two main characters
  • real-life scenarios that made my skin crawl (taking a moment to add a TW for SA)

What I didn’t care for:
  • although it’s a thriller, there’s a few times I felt like the description slowed down the book. While I could clearly picture what was happening, some of the over explanations were sloooow.
  • a few times, the word choice kept reverting back to the author’s favorite words or saying the same thing again multiple times in one paragraph.
  • a few portions of the plot weren’t believable to me (the villains were TRULY bad for the sake of being bad people).

Overall, this is still worth the read and it fun to blow through on a lazy weekend
