It took me a while to understand the pacing and point of this novel, but it picks up after the 50% mark. Laugh-out-loud funny, gross, and sad all at the same time. I like the ending and that’s ultimately why I rated this 4 stars instead of 3. My friend recommended this to me and said she wished she’d written it. I didn’t love it quite as much and there were times reading it I wasn’t even sure I liked it. This will not be for everyone, but if you are willing to accompany a messy antihero on a symbolic rollercoaster, you might enjoy it.
