This book is incredible. Despite any the differences in details to your own experience, it's a perfect picture of a struggling adolescent. I almost never cry at books, but David Mitchell has had me tear up twice in as many books with this and Cloud Atlas. That's not to say it's a sad book, but he just has a way with words where he takes something we all think about and expresses it in an absolutely gorgeous way.

Anyway, go read it. You'll love it.
