Let's call it a solid 3.5? Once again with this one, as with the one before it, I feel like there EASILY could 30k words cut from this, minimum. There's a lot of things I liked overall, some great story moments, and on the whole I did mostly enjoy it. But the sheer volume of words made me feel like I was never making progress while reading it, which made me pick it back up less and less often until I fiiiiinalllly finished it.
There's also a few stylistic things that she does, that have always bothered me, but seemed especially prevalent in this one for some reason, which I also found off-putting.
But ya, even all that being said, I still did at the end of the day like the story for the most part! (Reeeeallly didn't love the whole "literally everything you've ever done has been totally predestined" for you thing that came out towards the end there.) Obscene word count aside, I do every time *really* enjoy that the books are relatively easy reading + fantasy, which a cool (mostly) cast of characters.
I'm curious to see what happens in the next/last ones.
