The Halloween Tree
by Ray Bradbury
This is a very short book that I listened too. Much like a Christmas Carol, we take a journey with a bunch of boys to visit Halloween's long ago. Instead of ghosts our guide is Mountshroud and the boys are chasing their friend Pipkin through each land. Touching on the traditions of the Ancient Egyptians, Samhain, Day of the Dead and more this reminds me very much of Terry Pratchett's Hogfather as this story gets to the root of Halloween. Very enjoyable.
