People tend to find this book charming and cute, a snapshot of a bygone era. Never have I seen anyone criticize the open CSA that happens, or the fact that it's never addressed. The general gross child sex stuff in this novel makes it a disturbing read, and the vague ending made it an unsatisfying one. Tack on crappy grammar and a loosely knitted narrative, and I just don't ... I don't get the appeal at all.
