I decided to try a trope I’ve never thought I’d enjoy: why choose. My friend Rachel recommended it and it hit all the marks for me. Lots of humor, great character development, a strong female protagonist, a unique magic system, social commentary that fantasy does so well, and lots of action. My one complaint: cliff hanger! Now I have to read the rest of the series because I need to know what happens! What a fun departure from my usual reads.
