tahirarani 's review for:
Sorrowland
by Rivers Solomon
This book started very promising. Almost thrilling in its possibility. I had read the reviews, nearly all of which had incredible things to say, and I was eager to read something that seemed so powerful. And I will say, the first half of the book delivered. Solomon’s writing on motherhood is some of the most moving and beautifully accurate I have ever read, and this is a feat, because there is a lot of writing about motherhood, and much of it falls maddeningly short. But half way through, the book turn an interesting direction, and I am still not quite sure what to make of the ending. But the first half was enough to grant four stars, for sure.
